QUICK NEWS!

Sunday December 28th

Our Lord's day was a real joy! All us boys went to Ravenwood MO where Dave preaches. David preached in the AM service and Tom McNerney - Rhonda’s husband, preached in the PM service. Andy lead the music in both services and we boys sang the specials. All the girls went to Collage Heights Christian Church in Joplin, our home church. I guess you could call it a bonding experience for all. Of course, the children were with the girls. David had to preach at his church on Sunday, so we decided to give Dave some Melton boy company since we were all together for the Christmas holidays.. Between the boys and girls, there were 27 of us. What a time we had! We are so blessed! Thank you Lord! And we thank our Lord for you and all the wonderful friends we have who have helped us raise our kids and grands kids to be who they are today! We love you and we love serving “Him” with “You!”

How George is doing.

George is well and has recovered from his bout with the hospital. He was dehydrate and low on potassium. The doctor said, drink water and eat bananas! That he can do! It was not a heart problem or a stroke. And in the process of finding that out, it was nice to find out all that was not wrong! I suppose getting older is part to blame, but getting so busy and challenged with good things he loves to do is part to blame as well. He’s got to remember to eat right and get the proper amount of rest along the way - oh yes, there is exercise too! It’s great to enjoy what one does so much that one has to be reminded to do in moderation!

George is doing great!

Dear Friends,

We wanted to let you know that George is doing well. Sunday afternoon, George had a scary thirty minutes or so when his blood pressure bottomed out and caused him to feel and act as though he was having a heart attack. The EMTs were called and George was taken to the emergency room at Parkway Hospital in Ft Wayne, IN. After twenty-four hours of tests, the Doctors determined that his kidneys were not functioning at full capacity and were leaving toxin’s in his system which effected his blood pressure in a major way. As of this writing, George is still in the hospital. with a few more tests to be run, but hopes to be released tomorrow (Wednesday) around noon.

This has been a challenging time but this problem can be corrected. We have had the most wonderful care from the people at the Northside Christian Church here in Ft Wayne. They have stayed with us every moment to be sure that our every need has been and continues to be taken care of.

We love you all and we love serving “Him” with “You!”

Nedra

Thanks Oak Mound Christian - Xenia, IL

Fifty six years ago, a young man from Flora, IL was invited as a member of The Skylarkers Quartet to sing in a concert hosted by The Oak Mound Christian Church, That was the first time for the first tenor - George Melton - to sing with the Skylarkers. What a time it was for George! He realized that singing first tenor as a part of a Southern Gospel Quartet was the gift he was given to do his part in spreading the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Everything he has today is a result of that gift and the opportunity given to him by the good people of the Oak Mound congregation. Thank you Oak Mound Christian! I am blessed!
